[While she looks over what he picked up, he goes looking for something halfway decent. Nothing too fancy. Nothing too flashy or anything. He doesn't want to distract from Matt. Just add to it.]

[He chews his lip for a moment, before he answers.]

Yeah. Partly. After you and Hunk asked about my hair, I... guess I got a little self-conscious.

Lance doesn't count.

[She doesn't consider him a "normal person." Lance is..... Lance.

At that comment though, Pidge looks over with yet another surprised, owlish look.]

What? Why would that make you self-conscious?

I'm counting him.

[Lance is Lance, but he's also important, so there.]

[He doesn't look back at her for a minute, busy with the clothing.]

... I'm not sure. It's irrational, I guess. But... hey, at least all it took was a dye job.

[He is important, but he's definitely his own category, okay.]

Hm. [Pidge isn't entirely sure that she gets it, but as long as Shiro's happy so is she.] I like it, by the way. It feels right for you, somehow.

Sorry. Can't really explain it. [He would if he could, though.] Yeah? Little better than just the white, huh?

[She gives him a warm smile.] Yeah. It's like it shows everyone that you're also a big lovable nerd.

[It may be a teasing jab, but it's all out of love. Pidge has nothing but affection for Space Dad.]

Wow. This is the last time I take you out for a favor.

[He drags a knuckle -- a real one, not a metal one -- over her head. Suffer the Space Dad Noogie.]

[She can't help it, Pidge lets out a laugh at that noogie, playfully swatting his arm away.]

You don't mean that. You like me too much.

[She then raises the top she'd been looking at before, letting Shiro get a good look at it.] What do you think of this one?

Hey, keep talking to me like that and I might change my mind.

[He won't.]

[He won't and they both know it. But for now, he gives the shirt an appraising look.]

I think it'd be nice. If you're comfortable in it.

[Pidge just gives him a cheeky grin. Yes, she absolutely knows that.]

You think so? [She looks back at it again, pulling it close to hold it against her torso.] It wouldn't be too much skin or whatever?

[Wow, one day he'll surprise you, Pidge. One day.]

I think that if you're comfortable with it, it's just fine.

[And he means that. It looks fine to him. She's the one who gets the final say.]

Hm. [She considers it for another moment, then simply drapes it over her arm.] I'll think about it for now, I guess.

Have you found anything you like yet?

Take your time. We've got all day.

[He frowns a bit, turning to rifle through the section of "black". Black, black and very very very dark grey.]

[She watches Shiro for a moment with a thoughtful look on her face. She's the wrong person for him to be shopping with. He should be on this trip with Hunk or Lance. They'd have better opinions on what he ought to wear.]

Um- Does it have to be something black?

[He's the one who's supposed to be impressing people here, isn't he? The guy who needs to. As a show of support.]

[And... he's lost.]

I guess not? But that's... what I'm used to?

[Well now what is Pidge supposed to say? Clothes are not her Thing, she did not think this through.]

Um-- I'm sure Matt or Lance would have better advice on this than me.

[He wants you here because friendship and bonding okay.]

[Honestly? Hearing that comes as a huge relief.]

[She even smiles a little as she goes back to perusing through all the different articles of clothing.]

Just friends awkwardly shopping together?

That's exactly what this is. And... maybe making sure we don't wear anything stupid. I think we can handle that much.

[Hopefully, anyway.]

How's this? [As he holds up an outfit.]

[pidge_out]

[Her smile just grows a little bit. Hopefully is right.] We can try.

[She looks up when he calls out, eyes darting to the outfit he's pulled together and looking it up and down. She makes an impressed noise, nodding thoughtfully.] Yeah, that- that looks really nice. Are you gonna try it on?

[He looks it over too, chewing his lip. Clearly undecided. But Pidge thinks it looks okay...]

Maybe. Think I should?

[Also he will, if she tries on that other thing.]

[pidge_out]

[If there's at least one thing Pidge can do in this situation, it's help encourage him to do a thing like Try On Clothes.]

Yeah, definitely! See if you like it and if it fits, or whatever.

[And maybe she'll try things on, too. Let her gather more data options first.]

[Pidge shoots him a look that's simultaneously "How dare you" and "I see you what you did there."]

I'll try something when you've picked at least two outfit options.

[He goes digging in the racks again, regardless.]
