[First of all, that's rude, Daddy. Second, she doesn't even realize what he's just told her right away.

It takes her almost a full minute.

And then, very quietly, she moves toward the sink. Promptly dumps the rest of her mug out. Then wordlessly holds it out toward Shiro insistently.]

[Yeah he was expecting that.]

[He puts both hands on her shoulders. And gently tries steering her back toward the stairs.]

NO.

[She is planting her skinny bare feet into the floor and kicking back.]

KITCHEN. COFFEE.

[pidge_out]

[She's making the most pathetic eyes in the world at you, Shiro. Tired, sad, pleading puppy-dog eyes.]

... Don't do that.

You're going to make me take drastic measures.

Coffee, Shiro.

[It's part whine, part demand, part mumble.] Extra black. Five sugars.

[Oh my god fine, he will counter with his own sad face.]

Please get some rest.

[That's pretty good, Shiro. But you forget that Pidge grew up with Matt, and she is immune to Matt's puppy face powers.]

After coffee?

[She just nods, very solemn, holding eye contact.]

[She'd brighten a lot more visibly if she wasn't still so tired-looking.

For now she'll just... sort of try to slip out of Shiro's hold on her and make her way back to the kitchen.]

[He just lets her. Honestly, it's too much effort to put up more of a fight at this point.]

[Go get your coffee, Pidge. But he'll be here to make sure you really do go upstairs.]

[pidge_out]

[Yaaaaay.

And off to the kitchen she wanders. Where she will fix herself up a normal pot of coffee.

And will proceed to just stay there, even once she's got it, slowly sipping at it with her eyes closed.]

[He'll give her a minute. You know, before he heads in to start steering her back out again.]

Come on. Back you go.

[She'll go more quietly this time.



But she's bringing the whole pot of coffee with her.]

... Pidge you promised me you'd sleep.

Mm-hmm.

[But she's still not letting go of her coffee.]

... hold onto it tight for a second.

[Because he's going to just. Pick her up. Princess style. Or, rather, like you'd scoop up your half-asleep child.]
