[It's part whine, part demand, part mumble.] Extra black. Five sugars.

[Oh my god fine, he will counter with his own sad face.]

Please get some rest.

[That's pretty good, Shiro. But you forget that Pidge grew up with Matt, and she is immune to Matt's puppy face powers.]

After coffee?

[Goddamn you Holts and your puppy faces, why are you all so good at this.]

You won't sleep if you have coffee, Pidge.

I will. I'll bring it up to my room and go back to bed after normal coffee.

[She just nods, very solemn, holding eye contact.]

[She'd brighten a lot more visibly if she wasn't still so tired-looking.

For now she'll just... sort of try to slip out of Shiro's hold on her and make her way back to the kitchen.]

[He just lets her. Honestly, it's too much effort to put up more of a fight at this point.]

[Go get your coffee, Pidge. But he'll be here to make sure you really do go upstairs.]

[pidge_out]

[Yaaaaay.

And off to the kitchen she wanders. Where she will fix herself up a normal pot of coffee.

And will proceed to just stay there, even once she's got it, slowly sipping at it with her eyes closed.]

[He'll give her a minute. You know, before he heads in to start steering her back out again.]

Come on. Back you go.

[She'll go more quietly this time.



But she's bringing the whole pot of coffee with her.]

... Pidge you promised me you'd sleep.

Mm-hmm.

[But she's still not letting go of her coffee.]

... hold onto it tight for a second.

[Because he's going to just. Pick her up. Princess style. Or, rather, like you'd scoop up your half-asleep child.]

Come on, Pidge, bedtime for Green Paladins.

[She'll complain harder about this when she's more awake. For now she's just... kind of blank-faced. Because it's weird, but it makes sense, and she's hardly fazed, just holding the coffee pot in one hand and the mug in the other.

And sipping at it.]

It's morning.

Same thing. You're going back to bed, either way.

[Hey as long as she's not kicking around or struggling and spilling coffee everywhere. As long as she's okay with this.]

[Up the stairs they go.]

[Her brow kind of furrows as she drinks some more, blinking hard like she's trying to force the sleep out.]

You're the one supposed to go to bed.

Can't. Gotta go drive a space taxi.

Like a responsible adult.

[Just relax and let your new dad put you to bed, Pidge.]

[She makes a face, tongue sticking out and nose wrinkled, like a petulant toddler.]

Blech. You're way too good for work like that.

I get to fly every day -- it's not that bad.

[It's actually relaxing, compared to the fate of the universe resting on your every move.]
