[Once she's secure, he gives the cue to Skarmory.] In the clothing department? Me either.

[While she may not be as terrified as Hunk would be, riding on the back of a metal bird for only the second time ever without much to hold onto, Pidge is still a little unsettled about it.

Please don't let her fall, Space Dad.]

So where are we headed? Is there some kind of fashion hub city around here?

[He would absolutely never let her fall. That's just absurd. Skarmory can handle carrying her trainer, and a passenger the size of Pidge just fine.]

Just into town. I'm not asking you guys to be fancy -- that's my job.

[Again: Arm candy.]

[pidge_out]

[She nods-] Cool. [-before going quiet for another moment. Just thinking.]

...It's been a while since I've had to go shopping for new clothes. [Not since she was home. Not since before she snuck into the Garrison.]

... Yeah. You're all kind of in that boat, huh?

[The only reason he's relatively used to it is the amount of time he's been here.]

[... And a lot of his clothes came out of the bargain bins.]

[pidge_out]

[She laughs softly.] Yeah, kind of.

At least the castleship cleaned our clothes.

And now we're doing it ourselves. Well -- Matt and I are.

[He'd thought Haunter was helping, honestly.]

[But if he can't help with cooking, he can do this.]

[It's a good thing she's behind Shiro, because she's smiling, amused at the thought of Shiro and Matt handwashing everyone's clothes. It's adorably domestic.]

Thanks for that. I don't know if anyone says that enough to you guys.

[It is. It's... a lot of things he never thought he'd have. A lot of chances he thought he'd lost.]

Shiro, you literally bought a giant house for everyone to live in.

You guys needed a home.

We're not going to find a Castle out here.

And we're all grateful for that. But we'd also like to be able to give something back to you, you know.

You're doing plenty. Don't worry.

[At least in his mind, they are.]

[Fortunately!! There's town. So they can put that conversation on hold while Skarmory lands.]

[The skepticism is oozing off of her, even if Shiro can't see it. Oozing.

She only drops it (for now) because they've arrived, apparently. And Pidge blinks around them as Skarmory settles down.]

Okay, sooo... Where do we start?

[Once they're nice and settled, he swings off the bird, motioning her to wait until Pidge has hopped off too.]

There's a shop down the block. It'll have what we need.

[Probably. Hopefully.]

[pidge_out]

[Pidge climbs down after Shiro does, wiping at the seat of her pants as she turns to face him again with a slight smirk.]

But will they have a tight black shirt for you to wear?

Oh very funny.

But hopefully not.

[Once they're both off, Skarmory takes off. She'll wait up on the rooftops -- Shiro's not worried about her, that way.]

Unless you want to put a dress on.

[pidge_out]

[She gives him the cheekiest, toothiest grin possible.] I'm almost mean enough to say that would be worth it.

But no, no dresses for me right now. [Her nose wrinkles ever so slightly while she imagines it.] It'd feel kind of weird after all this time.

We're not doing the tight-shirt route.

[Not of he can help it anyway.]

[He's mostly kidding about the dress thing for her. But...] We could get you a green one. Lots of ribbons.

[pidge_out]

[Pidge snorts. Well, if that's the way he wants to play it...]

Tight black tank top. Maybe have it cut off right below your pecs for maximum ogling.

... Fine. I see there's no winning with you here.

[Look, he promised he wasn't going to go fancy. So he'll stick with it. Completely bypassing the whole "dress" section of the shop, once they arrive.]

I won't grab a dress if you won't grab a tank top.

[Not yet, Shiro. When she's ready to slip into a dress again, she'll let you know. But not just yet.]

Deal. We'll get you one of those nice suits from the magazines so you'll look like a model.

[That's fair. He was only teasing, not trying to actually push her into anything.]

... no that's okay. Just... decent clothes.

[Pidge smiles up at him. It's cool, Shiro. She's doing the same right back.]

I thought you were planning on turning yourself into eye candy for Matt.

... Eye candy.

You were talking to Lance, weren't you?

[He's pretty sure, at least, Lance was the one who said that out loud. Several times.]
