[The video is almost a blair witch parody with Lance being much too close to the camera as he whispers into it.]

Eddie... Eddie, I kept trying to call and it kept going to someone else, so I thought hey I'll just go see him, that's a great idea. I was wrong, man! This was such a bad idea! [Something thumps nearby and he squeaks.] It found me-

[Sounds of a door breaking and paws scrabbling over and then Lance is getting attacked by a... happy white wolf who was looking for him. But he doesn't seem to understand that, the fluid fell in such a way to give a good view of what is really happening and he's screaming and pushing at his attacker while Edelya tries to lick his face.] AHHH! IT'S GONNA EAT ME! LOOK AWAY EDDIE!

[Pidge is silent for the majority of the call. Mainly because watching Lance like this is kind of hilarious. Some part of her knows that she should feel bad (the dude can't see) but the rest of her can't help but enjoy the shenanigans of it all.

If there isn't a way to record these video transmissions already, Pidge is putting it on her list of Things to Make Happen.

But by the end of it Pidge can't quite contain herself anymore; she snorts loudly just before she bursts out laughing. And she laughs, and laughs... and laughs some more. Sorry not sorry, Lance. Your teammate is an absolute gremlin.]

[It's when he hears Pidge's laughter that he starts to wonder about two possibilities: the voices in his head are messing with him again and he's hearing her when she's not really there, or he misdialed again and did not call Eddie, but Pidge instead. Unfortunately, both are equally plausible. But more pressingly, there's a massive beast on him and he is still freaking out about that.]

P-PIDGE?!

[It takes a bit for her to settle down enough to speak, but Lance can absolutely hear the shit-eating grin that's across her face while she watches.]

Hi, Lance. You're misdialing again.

[And she's loving it. Thanks for this, ya goofball.]

I'm-? WAIT, how are you so calm?! There's a- [That's when Edelya manages to lick his cheek and he freezes.] ...oh.

[He groans and sits himself up properly, shooing the wolf a bit to give him space. Then he fumbles around for the fluid.]

Dude, did Shiro tell you? [That he's been misdialing.]

[One final snicker at Lance's expense, and that's finally it. Pidge is just grinning, even if Lance can't see it.]

I think your exact words at the start of this were "I kept calling and it kept going to someone else." It doesn't take a genius to figure that one out.

I mean I am one, but anyone could've done it.

Well excuuuse me for not remembering what I said when I thought I was about to die.

wait-- If that wasn't Edelya and was actually something killing you, that would've been your sixth death?!

Nothing! Have you seen what's out there? It's deadly!

[She's got him there.]

... W-well, they don't always work the way I need them to! [Which is very much true for both things these days.]

[pidge_out]

[Check and mate, sir.]

Then you need to get back to practicing. [HUFF.] And let me take a look at your bayard. I'm no Altean alchemist, but maybe I can run a diagnostic comparing it to mine to check for any malfunctions.

There's only so much practicing I can do before I drain all my energy! [He is neglecting to tell her that he can technically drain energy from other sources, but shhh.] And you can look at it if you want, but I'm pretty sure you're not gonna find what's wrong that way.

[He can't see it, but she is Raising An Eyebrow at him.]

Let's cross that bridge when we get to it.

[Pidge is going to work you to the bone, Lance. For science.]

And how about you just hand over your bayard and leave the tech work to me.

[He sighs, relenting on that point for now.]

Well if you want to look at it you gotta come get it because I've got no idea where I am or how to get home.

[Edelya snorts a bit nearby as if trying to say 'what am i, chop liver?']

[And Pidge will happily point out--]

You've got Edelya. She should be able to guide you, right?

I guess so... but I'm staying on the fluid in case we get swarmed by those bugs. She sucks at fighting those off.

[He gets up with a sigh and heads over to where he heard Edelya was, holding his fluid out a bit so Pidge can see well enough. It's clear now that he'd locked himself in a run down shed of some kind and it's dark, but there's a dim light hanging from the roof.]

[pidge_out]

That works.

[Pidge raises the screen up close so she can see a bit better, lips pursed in thought as she tries to make out the details.]

It... looks like you're in a shed. Get closer to a wall and feel around for the door handle.

A shed? Pff, that'll take too long, Edelya can just knock it down, right girl?

[She snorts and then Lance is feeling around for her shoulder and her head. Once he's found it, he gets on her like a horse because she's just that huge now.]
