[She raises an eyebrow at that pause. Really, Shiro?] His boyfriend?

[Geez, what are you, seven years old?]

What? [Pidge looks down at her outfit, considering the long shorts and loose t-shirt she has on.] I'm not dressed that bad, am I?

Yes. That.

[Technically he's six.]

[She gets a brief look too.] You're better than Keith. But... this is important to him. He's worked really hard on it.

We need to support him.

[pidge_out]

[Good lord, Shiro. He has a point about the outfits, though. At least she supposes so. With Commander Samuel Holt as her father, Pidge knows a thing or two about having to dress up for a work event. It's been a while, though... She lets out a weary sigh, then moves closer to Skarmory.] Fine, fine. But nothing too crazy, okay?

[shiro2hero]

Thank you.

[And he means it, too. She gets a shoulder squeeze, in thanks. Before he steps over to the bird himself. It really does mean a lot.]

Promise. I'm the only one who's going to try and impress.

[Read: he's going to be the arm candy.]

Okay, cool. [Because it's been way too long since Pidge has had to play dress up and she's not sure how well it will go if she has to do it on her own.]

What about the others? Are you forcing anyone else to get dressed up?

[shiro2hero]

No one needs to force Lance.

[He swings a leg over Skarmory's back, settling in and motioning Pidge up too. She's small enough the big metal bird can carry them both.]

But Keith, yeah. Hunk's probably fine.

[pidge_out]

[That makes her snort, amused.] Of course not.

[But hey, she'll climb on up behind Shiro, settling there and grasping at his shoulders.]

I'm not sure how I should feel about being in the same category as Keith. [No offense to him, of course.]

I'll ask him, though. In case he wants to.

[And in case he wants to raid Shiro's wallet.]

[Once she's secure, he gives the cue to Skarmory.] In the clothing department? Me either.

[pidge_out]

[While she may not be as terrified as Hunk would be, riding on the back of a metal bird for only the second time ever without much to hold onto, Pidge is still a little unsettled about it.

Please don't let her fall, Space Dad.]

So where are we headed? Is there some kind of fashion hub city around here?

[He would absolutely never let her fall. That's just absurd. Skarmory can handle carrying her trainer, and a passenger the size of Pidge just fine.]

Just into town. I'm not asking you guys to be fancy -- that's my job.

[Again: Arm candy.]

[pidge_out]

[She nods-] Cool. [-before going quiet for another moment. Just thinking.]

...It's been a while since I've had to go shopping for new clothes. [Not since she was home. Not since before she snuck into the Garrison.]

[shiro2hero]

... Yeah. You're all kind of in that boat, huh?

[The only reason he's relatively used to it is the amount of time he's been here.]

[... And a lot of his clothes came out of the bargain bins.]

[pidge_out]

[She laughs softly.] Yeah, kind of.

At least the castleship cleaned our clothes.

[shiro2hero]

And now we're doing it ourselves. Well -- Matt and I are.

[He'd thought Haunter was helping, honestly.]

[But if he can't help with cooking, he can do this.]

[pidge_out]

[It's a good thing she's behind Shiro, because she's smiling, amused at the thought of Shiro and Matt handwashing everyone's clothes. It's adorably domestic.]

Thanks for that. I don't know if anyone says that enough to you guys.

[It is. It's... a lot of things he never thought he'd have. A lot of chances he thought he'd lost.]

Hey, least we can do. For all of you.

[pidge_out]

Shiro, you literally bought a giant house for everyone to live in.

[shiro2hero]

You guys needed a home.

We're not going to find a Castle out here.

[pidge_out]

And we're all grateful for that. But we'd also like to be able to give something back to you, you know.

[shiro2hero]

You're doing plenty. Don't worry.

[At least in his mind, they are.]

[Fortunately!! There's town. So they can put that conversation on hold while Skarmory lands.]

[pidge_out]

[The skepticism is oozing off of her, even if Shiro can't see it. Oozing.

She only drops it (for now) because they've arrived, apparently. And Pidge blinks around them as Skarmory settles down.]

Okay, sooo... Where do we start?

[shiro2hero]

[Once they're nice and settled, he swings off the bird, motioning her to wait until Pidge has hopped off too.]

There's a shop down the block. It'll have what we need.

[Probably. Hopefully.]

[pidge_out]

[Pidge climbs down after Shiro does, wiping at the seat of her pants as she turns to face him again with a slight smirk.]

But will they have a tight black shirt for you to wear?

Oh very funny.

But hopefully not.

[Once they're both off, Skarmory takes off. She'll wait up on the rooftops -- Shiro's not worried about her, that way.]

Unless you want to put a dress on.

[pidge_out]

[She gives him the cheekiest, toothiest grin possible.] I'm almost mean enough to say that would be worth it.

But no, no dresses for me right now. [Her nose wrinkles ever so slightly while she imagines it.] It'd feel kind of weird after all this time.
